The word “Tung” originates from Northern Thailand. It means “flag”. It can also be used to describe the artisan created ceramic tiles that adorn Wat Phra Kaew’s walls. These painstakingly crafted tiles gave me inspiration to create a new “tung”. This new tung has the original geometric pattern reduced to reflect a minimalistic contemporary style.
